Column Internals:
Hold-down Plate, Type BL-2,
Ø > 100 mm for ceramic packings

Overview
A hold-down plate is a versatile retaining device used in several industrial applications. In tower packings, it is placed on top of packings to prevent crushing during surges or bed expansions, and is often recommended for ceramic and carbon random packings when tray support rings are not available. Also known as bed limiters, hold-down plates are designed to provide a high free area while minimizing interference with liquid flow. (Optional : Additionally, in piping systems, hold-down pipe clamps are used to restrain or dampen vibrations, particularly near compressors to reduce vibration caused by rotating equipment.
