FRP Pressure Sand Filters

FRP Pressure and Sand Filters
FRP Pressure Sand Filters-2

Overview

An FRP pressure sand filter is a type of filtration system used to remove suspended solids, sediment, and particulate matter from water or other fluids. “FRP” stands for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic, which refers to the material used to construct the filter tank. FRP is chosen because it is durable, lightweight, resistant to corrosion, and able to withstand high pressure.

Key Components:

1.FRP Tank: The filter housing made from fiberglass-reinforced plastic.

2.Media Bed: The filter media, typically silica sand, is placed inside the tank to trap and remove particulates from the water as it passes through.

3.Underdrain System: Located at the bottom of the filter, this system collects the filtered water and helps distribute backwash water evenly.

4.Control Valve: Manages the flow of water into and out of the filter for filtration and backwashing.

FRP pressure sand filters are popular because of their strength, cost-effectiveness, and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for both freshwater and seawater applications.

Here are some common types:

1.Top-Mounted FRP Pressure Sand Filter

2.Side-Mounted FRP Pressure Sand Filter

3.Automatic FRP Pressure Sand Filter

4.Multi-Layer (Multimedia) FRP Pressure Sand Filter

5.Dual-Stage FRP Pressure Sand Filter

6.High-Flow FRP Pressure Sand Filter

7.Skid-Mounted FRP Pressure Sand Filter
