FRP Pressure (Sand) Filters

Durable, corrosion-resistant solutions for efficient removal of suspended solids in various water treatment applications

FRP Pressure Sand Filters Built for Long-Lasting Performance

Pressure Sand Filters

An FRP pressure sand filter is a very efficient filter unit employed on the removal of suspended solids, sediment, and particulate matter from water or fluid. FRP is an abbreviation for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic, a light weight, strong, and corrosion-resistant material. All these features make it optimum for high-pressure and severe conditions.

Key Components

  • FRP Tank: The filter matrix comprises fiberglass reinforced plastic, increased strength, and long-term durability even under unfavorable conditions.
  • Media Bed: A specially layered filter media bed, usually silica sand, retains and filters out impurities as water passes through within the tank.
  • Underdrain System: It is located at the tank bottom and captures the filtered clear water and also effects uniform distribution upon backwashing.
  • Control Valve: It controls the incoming water entering into the system and outgoing from the system and backwash cycle for maintenance.

FRP pressure sand filters find wide application due to high reliability, economic viability, and corrosion resistance. They can be installed in freshwater to seawater conditions.

Most Popular FRP Pressure Sand Filter Models

  • Top mounted FRP pressure sand filters
  • Side mounted FRP pressure sand filters
  • Automatic FRP pressure sand filters
  • Multi-layer or multimedia FRP pressure sand filters
  • Dual stage FRP pressure sand filters
  • High flow FRP pressure sand filters
  • Skid-mounted FRP pressure sand filters

Filters are easy to install and offer long operation lifetimes and are one of the most widely used for the majority of water treatment plants.

Frequently Asked Questions About Systems Health Checks

It is used to remove suspended solids, dirt, and particles from water, making it cleaner and safer for various industrial, commercial, and municipal applications.

FRP is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and strong, making it ideal for harsh water treatment environments and long-term use.

Backwashing is typically required when the pressure drop increases or flow rate decreases. This can vary depending on water quality and usage but is generally done once or twice a week.

Yes, FRP filters are highly resistant to saltwater corrosion, making them suitable for seawater and other aggressive fluids.

Silica sand is the most common media, but other materials like gravel or multimedia layers can also be used for enhanced filtration.

Yes, we offer high-flow FRP pressure sand filters designed to handle larger volumes efficiently.
