SH Engitech designs and engineers customized Sistemas de Recuperación de Bromo for recovering bromine from suitable bromide-containing industrial streams such as aqueous HBr, NaBr and KBr solutions. Each system is configured according to feed chemistry, bromide concentration, flow rate, impurities, operating temperature, recovery requirements and recovered-bromine quality.
Depending on the feed chemistry and process configuration, bromide is converted into elemental bromine under controlled operating conditions. The liberated bromine is then transferred from the aqueous phase through steam stripping or an equivalent separation process. Bromine-containing vapours are subsequently condensed and routed to a phase separation stage, where the bromine-rich phase is separated from the aqueous phase. Appropriate and heat-transfer components are selected according to the process conditions and required capacity.
Where higher product purity is required, the recovered bromine can undergo additional purification or rectification using suitable distillation equipment. Residual bromine-bearing vapours can be directed to a dedicated for controlled off-gas treatment. The final configuration is selected according to feed chemistry, processing capacity, recovery requirements, product specifications and available utilities.
