Pickling Tanks Designed for Precision and Durability
Pickling tanks are tanks designed specifically to be utilized in the process of metal pickling, which is a cleaning operation where metal surfaces are cleaned by the removal of impurities such as rust, scale, and oxide films. Metal pickling entails soaking metals such as steel, stainless steel, or aluminum in chemical baths of hydrochloric, sulfuric, or nitric acid. The aim is to thoroughly clean the metal and prepare it for subsequent processes, including coating, plating, or welding.
These tanks are made of materials that resist the corrosive and aggressive action of acidic chemicals. About usage and chemicals used, high-density polyethylene, polypropylene, or fiberglass-reinforced plastic is used for their manufacture. Each tank is equipped to withstand aggressive environments and the aggressive chemical reactions associated with the process of pickling.
Sizes of tanks depend on requirements. There are smaller tanks of a few hundred liters, and they are much larger than 20,000 liters. The size is typically measured to the size of the metal pieces to be processed in the tank.
We are not very proud to be a world leader in employing the butt fusion technique of welding the end walls and body of our pickling tanks here at SH Engitech. This is a sophisticated technique of welding that produces extremely strong joints; hence, tank failure or leakage is hugely reduced.
In a bid to provide the best, all of our sheets are welded by German Wegner Welding Machines fully in accordance with the DVS standard. This guarantees leak-free, sound, and very secure sealing. Our pickling tanks are designed not just for use but also for long-term service and worry-free minds in extreme industrial conditions.
