Industrial Separation Technologies for Process Applications

Separation

SH Engitech provides customized industrial separation technologies for the recovery, purification, concentration and selective removal of components from liquid, gas and multiphase process streams. System design is based on feed composition, flow rate, phase behavior, operating temperature and pressure, required recovery, product purity and material compatibility.

Our distillation systems are engineered for separating liquid mixtures based on differences in volatility and vapor-liquid equilibrium. Design considerations include relative volatility, reflux ratio, theoretical stages, feed conditions, vapor and liquid loading, pressure drop and required product purity.

SH Engitech also provides absorption and stripping systems for gas-liquid mass transfer applications. System configuration is selected according to gas and liquid flow rates, component concentration, solvent characteristics, operating conditions, pressure drop, flooding limitations and required removal or recovery efficiency.

For solvent recovery applications, our solvent recovery systems are designed according to solvent properties, feed concentration, boiling behavior, operating pressure, recovery target, thermal duty and recovered-solvent quality. Depending on the process, the system may incorporate distillation, condensation and associated heat-transfer equipment.

Where selective transfer between liquid phases is required, liquid-liquid extraction can be considered based on phase equilibrium, solvent selectivity, distribution coefficient, phase ratio and required extraction efficiency. Separation systems can also be integrated with scrubbing systems and acid fumes recovery plants for gas treatment, chemical recovery and contaminant removal.

The engineering of industrial separation technologies considers material and energy balances, mass-transfer requirements, hydraulic performance, heat-transfer duty, equipment sizing, corrosion resistance and plant integration. SH Engitech develops customized separation systems for chemical, pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, solvent recovery and other process applications.
