GRE Piping

Engineered with epoxy and fiberglass for unmatched corrosion resistance and durability

SH Engitech GRE Piping

Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) Piping Solutions for Industrial Demands
GRE pipe, or glass-reinforced epoxy pipe, is a composite pipe and is produced by the reaction of glass fibers and epoxy resin. The pipe derives its strength from the glass fibers, while chemical resistance is provided by epoxy resin, which also serves as a binder. GRE pipes find their application in oil and gas, chemical processes, marine, and water treatment sectors due to their improved performance in adverse conditions.

Composition

  1. Fiberglass: It is the material of reinforcement used to provide structural strength and mechanical support to the pipe.
  2. Epoxy Resin: It is the binding material that provides general rigidity as well as chemical resistance to the pipe.

Due to these materials, GRE piping is generally the first choice compared to metal piping, particularly where there is very high concern for corrosion and where metal will degrade or fail prematurely.

In short, GRE piping relies on corrosion resistance, light weight, and resistance in hostile operating conditions. Good care should be exercised during installation and handling to prevent any mechanical failure and long-term performance.
